Ernst and Young have announced the appointment of a new director to take charge of its newly-formed insurance team.
The firm have taken on board Mick Summersgill, whose previous role was as the chief financial officer of Zurich Financial Services’ discontinued operations in the UK .
Mr Summersgill was also in charge of the run-off portfolios of Zurich Specialities London Limited and Eagle Star Insurance Company .
According to reports, the new director will use his previous experience of assisting executive officers to help restructure and drive forward the new insurance run-off team for Ernst and Young .
Speaking to finance news provider Accountancy Age, Kevin Gill, the lead partner in the insurance run-off team for the firm, said: "Mick joins the team at such an important point in its development."
"His experience across industry and in practice is invaluable to us and our clients ."
