Liverpool could soon become a hotspot for those seeking jobs in the financial sector, with thousands of banking and finance jobs set to be created in the capital of culture, an expert has revealed.
Property consultant Knight Frank has predicted that nearly 7,000 new vacancies are to be created in the UKs financial sector over the next five years.
The firm stated that the city will not be affected by the impact of the credit crunch as investment managers and stockbrokers are becoming "increasingly attracted to Liverpool as a place to do business", adding that the number of insurance and banking jobs will increase by 11.4 per cent.
Claire Higgins, head of commercial research at the company, explained that despite there being some concerns surrounding the economic slowdown, the healthy start to the year has led to a positive outlook for the rest of 2008.
Accountants looking to move to Liverpool will be boosted by the fact that the average salary for an Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales qualified accountant, with six years' experience, in Liverpool currently stands at £50,556, according to an Accountancy Age salary checker.
