The Financial Services Skills Council (FSCC) is set to complete a full review of the UKs accountancy standards after securing the necessary funding .
The FSCC announced that it now plans to complete the National Occupational Standards, which will cover aspects of the financial industry including accounting, credit management and payroll administration.
The council said it hopes to see some form of industry involvement to help complete the review before its April 2009 completion date .
Speaking to Accountancy magazine, FSSC director of education Sam Rees Adams, labelled the National Occupational Standards as a "great tool" in assessing a "particular job role".
"Much of their strength comes from the fact that they are developed by the industry, for the industry," he added.
