Big Four accountancy firm KPMG have announced the appointment of Oliver Tant as their new UK Head of Audit .
Mr Tant is set to takeover the role previously held by Richard Bennison, who moved on to became chief operating officer at KPMG Europe LLP, after spending the last three years working as KPMGs Global Head of Private Equity alongside being a lead partner within the UK practice.
The Head of Audit role will also see him join the firm's European Audit Leadership team, the Global Audit Steering Group and the UK operating team.
Mr Tant said he was "proud" to be leading a team full of "talented and high-quality people whose professionalism is second to none".
He added: "Auditors have always played a vital role in the effective functioning of capital markets - perhaps now more than ever, given the current challenging environment."
"I am sure our people will have a very important part to play in restoring confidence in the capital markets during these unprecedented times."
