Professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has confirmed that it has taken on 125 new graduate trainees .
The latest graduate recruitment by the Big 4 accountancy firm is part of a larger plan to take on 1,000 new employees nationwide this year.
The company revealed just under half of the new graduates will to join its financial services operations in London .
Sonja Stockton, head of student recruitment at PwC, said applications for its full-time graduate programme were up 38 per cent this year.
"Our requirements haven't changed," she commented. "PwC are looking for drive, energy, commitment and proven intellectual rigour so that we can confidently invest in our people's skills to last a lifetime."
The company added that 31 per cent of the new recruits are aged 25 and over, compared with 18 per cent last year.
