PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has added another title to its name after being named as the UK's best auditor at the Real Financial Director/CBI Financial Director's Excellence Awards.

The ‘Big Four’ accountancy firm scooped the Auditor of the Year (Large Six) title after gaining the most votes from Britain’s financial directors .

Richard Sexton, UK head of assurance at PwC, commented: "We are particularly delighted to win this award which is all the more important to us because it was voted for by finance directors who experience our work first hand."

He added that the title also recognises the amount of hard work and effort put in by the company's audit teams.

PwC recently came top of the Times High Fliers Top Graduate Employers survey for both the accountancy and finance sectors.

Company chairman Ian Powell said the titles were a "ringing endorsement" of its graduate programme and also indicated that graduates were looking outside of the banking sector for careers in finance .
