Chartered Accountant Adds Insolvency Practice To Services

Tue, 03 Nov 2009

Accountancy and business advisory firm Horwath Clark Whitehill (HCW) is to expand its UK operation with the addition of an insolvency department.

The new service will launch this month and will initially consist of two partners and three professional staff based at the firm's Kent office.

The insolvency practice will start by advising on administrations and company voluntary arrangement for corporate, and bankruptcy and individual voluntary arrangements (IVAs) for personal.

Commenting on the move, HCW chief executive Andrew Pianca said: "Kent is the first step for what will be a national service. We have been one of the largest firms not providing insolvency services ."

He added: "In the past we have been approached by many practices asking to join Horwath Clark Whitehill, however we have chosen to go down the route of finding the right individuals and building our service offering around them, ensuring the high technical standards consistent with the firm overall."

Last month, the insolvency profession named Big Four accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers corporate recovery firm of the year and best personal insolvency practitioner at the Insolvency Rescue Awards.
