Improvement In Finance Recruitment Reported

New research has revealed that recruitment in the financial services sector is starting to show signs of recovery.

A study by recruitment agency Reed Finance has revealed that demand for qualified accountants has picked up following a tough first half of the year.

Tim Vye, director of the company's finance division, warned that it remains to be seen whether this improvement in employment will continue.

He said: "It's too soon to say whether these are deep-rooted green shoots or just a temporary upturn but we are definitely seeing some promising signs and more sustained demand for senior and executive-level finance professionals ."

The study also found that finance job salaries have fallen by around 20 per cent as a result of the economic recession.

But despite the impact of the downturn, Reed discovered that those with interim roles have seen their income either stay the same or increase.
