A 66-year-old accountant from Warwickshire is preparing to run his 375th marathon later this month.
David Phillips, who manages his own accountancy firm in Kenilworth during the day, is spending his spare time training for the London Marathon, which he will run alongside colleague Viktoria Becker on Sunday April 25.
The marathon enthusiast, of Claverdon, near Warwick, hopes to raise £5,000 for the Brain and Spine Foundation. However, his overall target is to collect £50,000 for charity before 2012.
"Many supporters have been very generous over the years but we make no apology for asking again," he commented.
"After all we will do the hard work, you donate the money and the people who are suffering will benefit. Its very simple but it always goes a long way."
"I have raised £42,000 for various charities over the years. My aim is to reach £50,000 running my 400th marathon, so just £8,000 to raise and 25 marathons to go."
