Half of UK accountants are seeking a change in career, according to a new survey.
A survey of over 600 accountancy professionals carried out by CareersinAudit.com found that half are actively looking for a new role, while three in four intend to start their search for a new job over the next six to twelve months.
Nearly two thirds of respondents said they are networking at least twice a week, with half doing it specifically to find a new job .
The research also found that 80 per cent would be willing to move abroad to find the right role.
Commenting on the findings, CareersinAudit.com director Max Williamson said: "Employers need to be aware that the market is improving. They cant assume that staff are unlikely to leave them simply because there arent enough opportunities to do so."
"Even if employers are unable to provide a clear view of promotion for their staff, they should consider whether they are doing enough to provide other types of development, through regular mentoring, access to training courses and varying work content through special projects."
