A new study has revealed that seven out of ten accountancy professionals in the UK will search for a new job this year.
A recent survey carried out by Accountancy Age found that 70 per cent of accountants intend to change roles and nearly half expect to leave their current place of employment in 2011.
With many companies starting to recruit once more, 45 per cent of those polled said they expect to join a new firm by the start of next year, while a quarter said they were seeking roles elsewhere but were unsure of the prospects of finding a new job .
Only 30 per cent of respondents said they were happy to remain in their current job for at least another year.
Last year recruitment website CareersinAudit.com found that on in two accountants were actively looking for a new role, and that 80 per cent were willing to move abroad to find the right job .
At the time, CareersinAudit.com director Max Williamson said that employers could no longer "assume that staff are unlikely to leave them simply because there are not enough opportunities to do so".
