Francis Clark LLP, the largest independent firm of chartered accountants in the South West of England, has been nominated for a major financial industry award.
The Exeter-based firm are in the running for the title of Auditor of the Year (Mid Tier), which is one of the categories of the Financial Director Excellence Awards.
"We are delighted to have been shortlisted, especially as we are competing with some nationally focussed firms," said Les Burnett, Francis Clark's managing partner.
"It is particularly gratifying because the shortlists are compiled by an industry survey and represent an independent assessment of how well we are doing in the marketplace."
"Because of this procedure, we had no idea that we are being considered for this very prestigious award but are nonetheless thrilled at the prospect."
The FD Excellence awards are held in association with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) to celebrate the vital contribution financial directors, auditors, financial software suppliers and recruitment firms make to the reputation of British businesses.
Results are based on an annual satisfaction survey, which was completed by 1,000 finance directors in 2010. The winners of this years awards will be announced at special ceremony in London on Tuesday May 10.
