ACCA Congratulates Exam Passing Students

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants has announced that the number of students who took the ACCA examinations in June was unchanged from last year.

Figures from the global body for accounting professionals show that a total of 196,000 students sat the exam this year, the same as in June 2010, while a further 2,978 completed the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) exams.

Those that sat the tax and law fundamentals papers fared well, with high pass rates reported for both exams. However, the institute said results for advanced financial management, advanced performance management and advanced audit and assurance were "disappointing".

Clare Minchington, executive director of learning and products at the ACCA, said: "We congratulate those who have succeeded in their exams and we are delighted to see that more than 6,000 have completed their examinations, having been able to demonstrate the financial knowledge and professional skills which are needed by organisations in challenging economic conditions."

"We look forward to welcoming them to ACCA membership on completion of their practical experience requirements. We also congratulate the students who have completed their CAT exams at this session."
