A new Robert Walters survey has highlighted those accountants who got bonuses during 2011 witnessed an increase of more than ten per cent.
A top accountancy recruiter Marks Sattin, says that companies want good employees, so if they know they are resigning, they offer up to 20% more than their present salary.
Half of UK Accountants are presently being made counter offers upon announcing that they are leaving.
Sectors which are leading this trend due to an increased need for qualified and experienced accountants are energy, media, banking and FMCG.
The most massive salary increases are being offered by retail and investment banks, with nearly 7 out of 10 employees being offered pay increases in return for their continued loyalty to the company.
The level of counter offer is also on the increase.
This increase is especially announced in Zurich, Paris, Amsterdam, and Dubai .
