Chartered Accountants Ireland is the largest and oldest professional accountancy body in Ireland. Formerly known as the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI), the organisation has more than 24,000 members worldwide, and was founded in 1888.

Membership for Chartered Accountants Ireland rose by almost 50 per cent from 2004 to 2014, which was the quickest growth experienced at any of the accountancy bodies in the UK and Ireland.

Chartered Accountants Ireland is governed by a Council, which regulates the policies in place and monitors the implementation of these policies.

For those who are qualified Chartered Accountants, they will be offered a range of high-end qualifications, such as Life Long Learning Department (LLL) and also Continuing Professional Development (CPD), with Chartered Accountants Ireland.
