Accountant Given Life Time Achievement Award

A Manchester accountant has been given a lifetime achievement award.

The Manchester Chartered Accountants’ accolade was given to Arthur Burden for his outstanding contribution to the accountancy profession and his charity work

Mr Burden has already been a MCA president; he trained to become a chartered accountant at Manchester practice Carter, Challoner and Kearns prioor to undertaking national service in the RAF.

The present of the Manchester Chartered Accountants, Martin Robinson, presented the award at a dinner at the Hilton Hotel, Manchester.

Mr Robinson said: “I am incredibly proud to be able to acknowledge the contribution Arthur has made to the profession during his illustrious career.”

Arthur has made valuable contributions to the profession and charity which are truly commendable.

MCA is the local branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales; it announced a donation of £10,000 to The Willow Foundation, a charity dedicated to organising days out for the seriously-ill.
