Harry Redknapp, Tottenham manager, claims to have used best accountants London can muster up.
He told a jury today: “I have always paid my taxes.”
Redknapp said he hired the best accountants in London to keep his books.
He claims to have paid too much tax, not just what has been required of him.
Redknapp and Mandaric were charged with tax evasion .
On January 23, 2012, they went on trial at Southwark Crown Court accused of two counts of cheating the public revenue.
Both Redknapp, 64, and Mandaric, 73, denied cheating the public revenue with £189,000 payments into a Monaco account.
In his defence Redknapp confirmed that he had received a £300,000 gift from West Ham United for the sale of Rio Ferdinand to Leeds United. He expressed that he understood that the club was not contractually obliged to pay him.
Redknapp rather flippantly told the court that his only prior charge was for speeding.
On Feb 8 2012 Redknapp and Mandaric were cleared of tax evasion charges .
