Bishop Fleming cycle challenge raises thousands for charities

Teams from accountancy firm Bishop Fleming Chartered Accountant set out on individual team cycle marathons to raise money for local charities across the country.

Altogether, £23,800 was raised by the staff members, by completing a 325 mile bike ride challenge.

Overall, 67 workers undertook the route that bypassed all of the firm’s offices in Bath, Plymouth, Torquay, Truro, Exeter, and Worcester.

A further 100 staff members were involved in the admin of the event.

Clients of the large accountancy firm also got involved, with Ocean BMW and Rygor providing vehicle outrider support, and Paligap who provided nutritional products to help the riders out.

The bike ride wasn’t the only fundraising event, with office wide bake sales, quizzes and other events to boost the overall total in the last six months leading up to the bike rides.

The offices of the firm voted to put their cash raised into charities which are local to each individual office.

28 of the riders were also partners of the company, including the managing partner, Matthew Lee. Lee said: “It is a fantastic achievement by all concerned in organising and fundraising for the event and has been humbling seeing the commitment, dedication and enthusiasm that has been show to undertake this event and fundraise for our seven chosen charities.

“We are hugely grateful to all out clients and contacts for their generosity in helping us exceed our target.”
